We Can Work It Out

The We Can Work It Out (WCWIO) project will be three years long and aims to work with BAME communities to better understand the challenges being faced by working families. Together we will find and test solutions to better support families in dealing with these challenges.

The project will be led primarily by a Core Group of families from different communities in Cardiff, who will work together with the project team as a steering group to make key decisions regarding the project focus, direction and use of resources.

The project is in partnership with four organisations across Cardiff:

  • Women Connect First
  • South Riverside Community Development Centre
  • Horn Development Association
  • Oasis Cardiff

New Economics Foundation (NEF), based in London, is also a project partner and will be providing technical support and expertise to the Core Group of families, especially for the first year of the project.

During the first year, the project will focus on research, which will be led by the project Core Group. The second and third years will focus on consolidating evaluation and learning from the first year. The project will embrace the learning in order to implement successful solutions through creative/innovative pilots and seek further funds to progress with the solutions that demonstrate the best impact and change for families.
