Excursion SeneddMay 13, 2019NewsWe had a wonderful visit to The National Assembly for Wales Senedd as part of our Suffragettes “Celebrating women in Wales” project We had over 35 women from diverse BME communities, backgrounds and age groups visiting the Senedd learning about the history, 20 years of devolution, the cabinet, provisions at the Senedd, public gallery, women role models, politician duites and most importantly how we can all play a part in the future of wales A Huge thank you on behalf of WCF to First Minister, Mark Drakeford AM’s – Jane Hutt, Julie Morgan and Helen Mary Jones for joining us during the tour and also being on the panel at the Q & A session discussing various issues of concern for women, young people and elderly from BME communities. Thank you for feeling us welcomed at the Senedd. We are very looking forward to taking this project further to inspire more BME women to be part of public life and lolitics in Wales.... Politicians RacismMay 7, 2019NewsOur Director Maria Mesa yesterday was going to the Senedd, she attended to the interesting discussion about racism. Later she spoke with Julie Morgan (Cardiff North, Deputy Minister for Health and Social Services) and John Griffiths (Newport East) about the political changes that the city of Cardiff and its inhabitants need. Also attending members from different organizations off Cardiff they did not hesitate to show their opinion and contribute their ideas to Julie Morgan and John Griffiths. It was an interesting afternoon full of people ready to make the necessary changes possible. ...
